KICKAPOO - Thomas L. Heinz, 67, of Kickapoo passed away at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 16, 1944, in Peoria to Carl F. and Margaret L. (Purcell) Heinz. He married Patricia J. Meyers on Nov. 30, 1968, at St. Mary's Church in Kickapoo. She survives.
Thomas is survived by three sons, Timothy J. Heinz of Chillicothe, Brian T. (Mischa) Heinz of Peoria, Ariz., and Douglas C. Heinz of Edwardsville; three grandchildren, Meila, Cora and Thomas Heinz of Peoria, Ariz.; two brothers, Fred (Phyllis) Heinz of Kickapoo and Father David Heinz of Bartonville; five nephews, Jeff (Deb) Heinz, Steve (Jill) Heinz, Chuck (Michele) Heinz, Patrick Wake and Ron Wake; one niece, Suzanne; and 10 great-nieces and -nephews.
He worked at Pabst Brewing Company for 16 years, then for 22 years as a foreman at the state of Illinois Department of Transportation, retiring in 2006.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman and conservationist and was a member of Pheasants Forever.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kickapoo.
Thomas served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, at St. Mary's Church in Kickapoo. Father David Heinz and Father Joseph Dondanville will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Parish Hall and 30 minutes prior to the Mass at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Kickapoo.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish in Kickapoo.

Sorry for your loss, Tom was a good and fair man he will be forever missed.I had the pleasure of working with him for the 22 years he was at IDOT he was a hard worker and a fun person.May God keep and bless you all!
