Verla McFarlin
SPARLAND - Verla M. McFarlin, 82, of Sparland passed away peacefully with her children by her side at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House in Peoria on Sunday, May 8, 2016.
Born in Benson on July 24, 1933, to the late Jacob and Emma Denne Oltman, she married Walter McFarlin on May 29, 1952, in Washburn. Walter died on July 24, 2004.
Surviving are her children, Julie (Don) Dawson of Hopewell, Dan McFarlin of Island Lake and Lisa McFarlin of Peoria; sisters, Betty (Frank) Bugg of Hemet, CA, and Linda (Ron) Pringle of Lacon; brother, Jack (Carol) Oltman of Chillicothe; and grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon, Brian and Matt.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin, Merle and Earl Oltman.
Services will be held on Friday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon, with a visitation on Thursday, evening from 5 to 7 p.m., also at Lenz. Robert Murphy will officiate and burial will be in the Henry Cemetery.
Memorials can be left to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House in her name.
