William Tingleff Obituary

PEORIA - William "Will" Terence Tingleff, 48, of New Braunfels, Texas, formerly of Peoria, passed away Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at his home, after a hard fought battle with cancer.

He was born to Richard William and Moira Christina Tingleff on Feb. 13, 1967, in Peoria, Ill. Will married Andrea Fleur Johnson on Oct. 5, 2002, in Chicago, Ill.

He is survived by his wife; his children, Nora Margaret and Reginald David; his older brother, Richard John (Shelley) Tingleff of Peoria, Ill.; and his niece, Jenna Elizabeth Tingleff.

In 1985, Will graduated from Woodruff High School in Peoria, Ill. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and, in 1990, graduated with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. In 2006, he earned a license from the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Upon graduation, Will was hired by General Electric into their field engineering program. Over a 10-year period, he worked for GE Power at various domestic and international power plants as a field engineer, start-up engineer and program manager. Will transitioned to station director in 1999 with Dominion Power at Elwood Energy (Ill.), and later at State Line Power Plant (Ind.). He became a plant manager for PSEG in 2009 at the Bethlehem Energy Center (N.Y.). In 2010, PSEG transferred Will as a plant manager for the Guadalupe Energy Center (Texas), which was subsequently owned by Wayzata Partners and currently by Calpine.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, at Unity of New Braunfels, 408 Gruene Road, with a reception following.

William I know you'r smiling down at your family up in heaven. You left this world way too soon, but god has a plan for us all. I still remember pushing the defibrillator that hung on the wall every day I came in, and I would change it daily to speak Spanish or English. You would always tell me stop doing that but I never did, and you would laugh and repeat it in both languishes. I would tell you why come to work if we can't have any fun. May we meet some day in heaven and if there's one hanging on the wall , you know I'm gonna push it. Miss you my friend.

Will was kind gentle man who loved his family and his life. Will was a man of few words but was a giving and caring person to everyone he touched, it was my honor to have worked with him and to have known him on a personal level, he was a fun guy. We spent only a short time working together but we had fun and joked around daily. You will be missed and as we said daily to each other stay calm, you fought hard your with god now. God bless you and take care of you.

words simply can't ease the pain of this great loss. I nkew Will from GE when we both started with GE in FEP 25 years ago. Greg Morton shared Will's battle with me as we reminisced on our 25 years. I remember Will so fondly from that time. His great smile and wonderful way with people. He was such a good guy to be around. My mom jjust died of cancer 3 days ago and I know the fight is hard and difficult. I hope he found peace and comfort in his final days annd that you and the kids can cherish his legacy and life. He was a great man.
