Mabel, Dearest friend You are a very special lady and I was blessed to have you as a friend thru my Mother Myrtle Powell from 8th st in Stroudsburg ,My Mother has gone on to heaven in 1992 and you and I kept up the friendship thru visits when in town and thru letters which I kept and reread. Thank you for being my friend and that way keeping me in touch with mutual memories of my Mom and Dad. I just sent a Christmas package out to you before hearing of your death from Cindy Williams and anyone reading this feel free to see that someone that could make use of gift to pass it on . Mabel may you be in Gods loving care. Nancy and Wayne Bryant

It was amazing the first time I have ever met Mabel, it was Christmas 2003. My husband used to dress up as Santa Claus and we would walk around the neighborhood visiting all the little children. When we were visiting Mabels block, she had come out to see what the fuss was all about and to her surprise it was Santa Claus. She then gave Santa a big old fashioned hug.
Mabel enjoyed seeing everyone from her neighborhood enjoy their annual holiday BBQ's in which she came to several. As of what I remember most about Mabel is what I hope to be one day. Just a good ol fashion gal living my life to the fullest.
May the Lord bless her as she walks through heavens door.
Rest in Peace Mabel.
