Richard Ludwig Obituary

Richard P. Ludwig, 62, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at home. He was the husband of Tammy Frailey Ludwig.

Born on Oct. 24, 1944, in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Claude Ludwig and Evelyn Richardson Ludwig.

He was employed by Laird Technology in Delaware Water Gap for five years and prior to that he worked for the CLU Club in East Stroudsburg as a bartender for 15 years. Prior to that he worked for Steinhauers Stationery in Stroudsburg for 20 years as a sales and delivery person.

He was a member of several clubs and organizations including the CLU Club in East Stroudsburg, the VFW in Stroud Township, the American Legion in East Stroudsburg, and the Loyal Order of the Moose in Stroud Township.

He was a resident of Monroe County his entire life.

In addition to his wife, Tammy, he is survived by a son, Richard K. Ludwig of Stroudsburg; three daughters, Marisa Ludwig of Stroudsburg, Cassandra Matthews and her husband, Richard, of East Stroudsburg and Richelle Zulauf and her husband, James, of Stroudsburg; two stepsons, Robert Counterman of Allentown and Gary B. Counterman of Allentown; two grandchildren, Zachary Zulauf of Stroudsburg and Richelle Matthews of East Stroudsburg; two step grandchildren, Ciarra Counterman and Gary B. Counterman Jr.; two sisters, Gloria Stiers and Nancy Omdal; a special nephew, Keith G. Albert of Stroudsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Claudia M. Ludwig; and a brother, Kenneth G. Albert.

Family and friends are invited to a calling period from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home Inc., 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. The Rev. Lenny Luchetti will officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
