Ralph Ret. Obituary

TUPELO - TUPELO - Ralph Danny "Dan" Robins was born February 29, 1944 to the late Ralph Taylor Robins and Jerry Cooper Robins of Ponca City, OK. Dan passed away on December 4, 2024 at Baptist Hospital Oxford after a brief illness. He was 80 years old technically, but was really only 20 as a Leap Year baby. Dan was a 30-year retired Sergeant Major of the 332nd Medical Brigade of Memphis, TN. He was a 1962 graduate of Ponca City High School where he was all American baseball player. He attended Oklahoma State University on a baseball scholarship and later transferred to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. There he finished his baseball career and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He then joined the Army Reserves and went to work for Sun Oil Company. In 1969 he met the love of his life, Anne Stanley of Cotton Plant, AR, and married December 20 of that year. His job took them to live in several different places until settling in Tupelo, MS in 1975. Dan was the owner of Tupelo Oil Company and retired from Loomis Fargo. He was an avid deer and duck hunter and loved spending his time off at the Stanley Farm in Cotton Plant, AR, where he found solace and was at peace with God and mankind.
