Clara G. Zablocki (nee Zajac), age 85 of Crown Point, IN passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 4:15 p.m. She was born July 20, 1924 in Gary to the late Edmund and Marie (nee Eckert) Zajac. She was an area resident all her life. She is survived by her two daughters, Denise Zablocki of Merrillville and Patricia (Dennis) Ahrens of Crown Point; two grandchildren, Christopher Hedigan of Merrillville and Alexis Ahrens of Crown Point; dear and close family friend, Mary Ann Massa; brother, Robert (Mildred)Zajac of NC; sister, Leona (Kenneth) Wooten of CA; brother-in-law, James (Eleanor) Campbell of Crown Point; sister-in-law, Jean Zablocki of Noblesville, IN; many nieces and nephews; beloved dogs, Santana, Cody and Banditt. Preceded in death by husbands, Walter and Joseph Zablocki; parents, Edmund and Marie Zajac; in-laws, Joseph and Alexandria Zablocki; children, Deborah and Dennis Zablocki; brothers, Edmund Jr, John, Walter, and Eugene Zajac; sisters, Lillian Vichinsky and Genevieve Campbell; beloved dog, Buster. Clara was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Merrillville. She was employed by Goldblatt's Department Store and Kobilinski's Drug Store, and during World War II she worked at Gary Tube Works. Clara was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit #207. She was a devoted housewife and mother. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville, Friday, January 22, 2010 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Prayer Service at 2:45 p.m. Legion Auxiliary Service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 12:00 Noon from SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 5885 Harrison St, Merrillville with Rev. Roy Beeching officiating. Cremation to follow services. At rest Calvary Cemetery, Portage. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Family and friends may share an online condolence or memory at www.pruzinfuneralservice.com.
