Evelyn and I met in the early 70’s at Purdue University in Hammond. We took a liking to each other and our friendship lasted until her death. I truly miss and love her very much. When my husband and I were leaving the cemetery after her burial I said to him that I would see her again in HEAVEN. Gone but not forgotten!! Your friend, Dorothy Long

She made such a difference in my son's life as a dedicated teacher who took them beyond the walls of the classrooms on educational trips. Her kindness and caring spirit lives on in her students today. God has taken an Angel home to be with him in heaven. May she rest in peace.

She was a wonderful Teacher when I was taught by her at Dunbar-Pulaski Middle School in the Gary Community Public School. She then again taught my daughter at the same school. She was fun and creative with her teaching. She always a smile on face. She will be greatly missed. Your Family is in my prayers. Dear Sheldon, Erica and Nicholas,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Evelyn's passing. She was a friend, my mentor-teacher and beloved Soror. My students' lives were enhanced by her. She arranged two of my traveling adventures with my drama students.Plus arranging my vacation to Puerto Vallarta and my parents trip to Las Vegas.
Evelyn was always so encouraging to me. I will never forget her beautiful smile and hearty laughter. Evelyn got the chance to hear me minister the word of God!
I hope these memories will encourage you to know the tremendous influence she had over my life!
I encourage you with these words, "God is my refuge and strength. A present help in the time of trouble. May the Lord keep and strengthen you in the coming days!
