Gladys Rosenbaum

GLADYS ROSENBAUM (nee RADKE) Valparaiso, Indiana Gladys (Radke) Rosenbaum, age 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Porter Hospital. She was born in Michigan City, IN on December 1, 1921. She was a resident of Valparaiso for many years. For 36 years, she was a private housekeeper for a Valparaiso family. She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Ruth Circle Bible Study and the Trinity Trumpet Mailers. She is survived by one son, Lawrence "Larry" Rosenbaum and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Marlan Rosenbaum in 1994. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Neulieb and Leona Gaskins; and three brothers, Lester, Marvin and Fred Radke, all of Michigan City, IN. Gladys enjoyed playing cards, following sports and making her signature fudge. She played pinochle with a group of ladies for over 50 years. She was an avid Valparaiso University Crusader Basketball fan and Chicago White Sox Baseball fan. She was still actively going to games and following her teams closely. She loved making her signature fudge at Christmas time and delivering it to her family and friends. Friends may call on Sunday, December 23, 2007 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Campbell St., Valparaiso, IN immediately followed by a funeral service with the Rev. Dr. John J. Santoro, presider and the Rev. Dr. Freda S. Scales, Assisting Minister, officiating. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church. Gladys was a very devoted wife and a very loving mother. She will be greatly missed. Arrangements by Dykes Funeral Home, Inc.
