Diane,

I was really saddened to hear of Leo's passing. I did not know him all that well, but in the short time that I did know him, I thought he was a very good person. He made me laugh the few times I saw him.

God gives us our children not to keep, but to take care of, in reality they are his. The time that you had with him was very special. God called him home.

Even though it may seem very hard now, rest assured you that the pain and heartache will ease as time goes on. I want to extend my sympathy, and please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you and your family,

Leo, my friend, my dear friend, since the day we met you have always been fearless; I admire you so for that. Death is quite the oxymoron. On one hand, it's such an nasty thing, because one grows to love their family and friends more and more each day, so no matter when you lose them, it will always be at the height of your love for them. On the other hand, it's rather satisfying, because you no longer have to deal with the unattractive, heart-breaking drama this earth has become known for. You are a legend and don't worry about the hopes and dreams you shared with me, but we're never able to achieve...I will achieve them for you. So, you just rest, I've got you covered here. Tell my grandparents I didn't know it would be this hard, but I'm trying and doing quite well. Tell Jesus that I love him so much. I love you too Leo; thank you for being one of my closest friends.

Sending my deepest and heart-felt sympathy to the entire family. Leo took a part of my heart with him. But I rest assured that we will see each other again. I will always remember as I watch "The Color Purple", how he would recite it line for line and how he knew every song from "Little Shop of Horror". He will forever be in my heart.

Leo, my friend, I love you.

Leo was a precious jewel. To know him was to love him. It was impossible to be around him, without him make you smile. What he did best, nobody could emulate. We should all be so lucky as to be able leave such an impression. I loved Leo Jenkins for being Leo Jenkins.
