My husband and I met Phil when we looked at his motorcycle he had for sale. In talking with him, my husband and one of his friends actually knew Phil and at one time worked with his brother Pete many yeas ago at Whiting Corp. The guys recalled many memories from that time. We stayed in touch with Phil, through email and Facebook, and just became neighbors with him at the beginning of September. In fact, he told us if we needed anything to let him know, of course I asked his advice for tv and internet providers as we were new to the neighborhood. Since becoming his neighbor, I would pass by and always get a wave or smile. Although I did not know him as well as many others, he spoke highly of his family, they were the world to him. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting his wife Pat yet, and mentioned to Phil that I would love to meet her especially because we are only a few houses down the street and I might get some great gardening tips from her! We were so shocked to hear about this terrible tragedy for the entire Amsden family, we are keeping your entire family in our prayers through this difficult time. In my short time knowing him, I found him to be very genuine and kind person. To Pat, although we haven't met yet, if there is anything that our family can do, please let us know, as I said we are only a few houses away. I am sure you have seen our big gray Suburban pass by many times. May your family find peace in the memories that Phil left behind and on this Veteran's Day, Thank You Phil for your service to our country, I truly believe that our veteran's do not receive enough recognition for fighting for mine as well as, others freedom.

We called him Pops at work. He always had good stories to tell. He was a hard worker and often ran circles around younger men. He was a pleasure to work with and will be greatly missed.

In Phillip's memory a contribution to MADD will somehow offset the grief.
