Ganch, Agnes

Agnes Ganch, age 81, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 08, 2015. Agnes was born on July 15, 1934 in Budapest, Hungary, to the late Gyula and Jolan (Friedmann) Markovits. She was initially employed by Adrian Godschalx, P.E. consulting firm as an electrical designer for 20 years. After that Agnes worked as an electrical draftswoman for Marathon Engineering for 7 years and Valmet for 14 years.

Preceding her in death is her father, Gyula Markovits, who died in Mauthousen, Austria concentration camp in 1944, her sister Lilly, who died in Ravensbruck, Germany concentration camp in 1944, her mother, Jolan Friedmann, who died in 1991, and her son David, who died in 1966. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her husband, Eugene, son, Daniel (Ann), and daughter, Susan (Jerod Eisenshtadt), 2 grandchildren, Benelli and Nam Jin Ganch, as well as many friends and community members here in Appleton and Venice Florida.

The funeral services will be held 2:30 Tuesday, October 10, at the Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel funeral Chapel, 606 N. Oneida St. Appleton. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 1:30 until the time of service. Interment will take place at Moses Montefiore Cemetery, Appleton.

Eugene and Family,
Chris and I are so sorry to here of Agnes passing. I always looked forward to speaking with her and Eugene when we met on our community walks. I knew that she was ill and kept in touch with Mara and Hans from time to time to check on her condition. Agnes was a lovely lady who always seemed to have a positive outlook. She will be missed. Again so sorry for loss.

Dear Eugene and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I loved Agnes and I think we both felt an immediate bond. I think of her and you, Eugene every time I drive past your development in Venice on my way to Englewood. I regret I did not get to share with Agnes my favorite beach on Manasota Key. Truly her memory is for a blessing. I know I was blessed to know her, if ever so briefly.

I worked with Agnes (and Eugene) years back at Marathon. I was always so impressed by how strong and positive she was after all she had gone through. A truly remarkable lady. I'm glad I got to know her.

Dear Eugene and family, I was very saddened to hear about Agnes. We had emailed/spoken in September and I knew of her constant struggles. We met in Ventura Village a few years ago ,and we quickly became Mah Jong and Book Club Friends. I truly enjoyed her quick wit and dry humor that often left us both roaring with laughter. My heart is saddened by our loss. She loved her family dearly and know she will be missed. Take comfort in the many happy memories you all share .I'll miss seeing her in Florida.

Agnes will always be a part of my earliest memories of Moses Montefiore Congregation and celebrations of various Jewish holidays. At my Mom's funeral, just last month, Agnes told me that she thought she would be seeing my Mom again very soon. I know that those two dear friends are now reunited in Heaven, restored to vigorous good health and free from all pain and suffering. My family and I send our love and thoughts to Eugene, Susie, Dan and all of the other family and friends of Agnes. She will be greatly missed and warmly remembered.
