Al McHugh Obituary

Mc Hugh, Aloysius

Aloysius F. Mc Hugh

"Al", 83, Appleton, passed away peacefully on Christmas day at Cherry Meadows. Al was born on April 17, 1929 in Appleton to the late John and Evelyn (Strong) Mc Hugh. He served in the United States Army fortunately during peacetime. He married Amy Pommerenke on June 26, 1954 and she preceded him in death in 1995. He worked for Kimberly Clark and owned and operated an Excavating Business with his friend, Arden Peterson. Al enjoyed hunting, raising horses and mules and fishing with his friends, especially his buddy, Ken Van Handel.

Al was an outgoing man, full of life and spirit and will be greatly missed by his two children: Diane (Edward) Bishop and John (Cindy) Mc Hugh; sister, Mary (Richard) Klein; brothers: Ralph (Kathy) Mc Hugh, Tom (Audrey) Mc Hugh and Dan Mc Hugh; sister-in-law, Alice (Morey) Locklin; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Amy; and Eileen and Willis Babb.

A Celebration of Al's life will take place at 10:00 am Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Star of Hope Chapel in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.

The family extends their gratitude to Al's good friend, Steve Brooks, and his special friend, Mary Marquardt for their wonderful care and devoted friendship to Al. The family also wishes to thank the caregivers at ThedaCare Hospice and Cherry Meadows.

I have many loving memories from the dozen years as a special friend to Al, including the 3 and a half as his care giver. I'll always remember his recurring reply of "I know I should but I won't." I am sure he is now enjoying his days in heaven with his beloved Amy, his mules and his dogs.

Diane and John,
Please accept our sincerest condolences. We will always remember "Buddy" and our visits to the "Boers Nest" during deer season.
