Cherie Kaepernick Obituary
New London - Cherie J. Kaepernick, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, following a lengthy illness. She was born on May 16, 1929, in New London daughter of the late Joy and Myrtle (Schmidt) Roe. On June 12, 1949, Cherie was united in marriage to Marvin Kaepernick. He preceded her in death in 2005. Family meant everything to Cherie; she spent her whole life attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. She enjoyed occasional trips to the casino with her son John and his wife Rochelle.
Cherie is survived by her sons: John (Rochelle) Kaepernick, New London; Rand (Patricia) Kaepernick, New London, Jim (Lisa) Kaepernick, Bellingham, WA, and Rick (Teresa) Kaepernick Turlock, CA; grandchildren: Kelly Kaepernick, Kasey (Teasha) Kaepernick, Kory (Jamie) Kaepernick, Kimberly (Nick) Hernke, Brett (Sarah) Kaepernick, Kyle (Lindsay) Kaepernick, Devon (George) Santos, Colin Kaepernick (Nessa Diab), Gavin Kaepernick, and Jacob Kaepernick; great-grandchildren: Treston, Ellington, Lily, Leighton, Hunter, Zoey, Ezekiel, Thea, Quinn, and Paige; sisters-in-law, Bev White, Lorraine Roe, and June Kaepernick. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Jack Roe and two grandchildren Kent and Lance, brother-in-law Duane Kaepernick, sister-in-law, Velda (Frank) Runge, and brother-in-law George "Chub" White.
Due to the current pandemic, a private family service will be held for Cherie.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 3rd-floor nursing staff at ThedaCare Medical Center, New London and the ThedaCare Hospice nurses and staff.

She was a wonderful woman, I didn't know her long but I'll miss her for ever. I worked in the kitchen at New London hospital and enjoyed every minute I spent with her. Cherish your memories.

Cherie: Always had a smile and kind words for Me. I worked with Marve and John at Curwood remember the good times playing ball and Cherie cheering for them. She is with The Lord and smiling down at us.
