I remember when Mike was golfing in an outing when he worked at Banner Packaging and he wore a kilt. Never one to take himself seriously and just a wonderful guy. He will be missed by a lot of us and our prayers go out to Sherry and his family. RIP Donkey you nut.

I'm so sorry for your loss Sherry. I like many others worked with Mike and was grateful to have had him as a friend.....a true friend! When I found the need to laugh, Mike was the go to person for me. He always knew the right things to say to make things not look so bad. Heaven is lucky to have you Mike. God bless all of you

We met Mike and Sherry shortly after Jake and Becca began to date. The plan was to spend a day of shopping at the Fox River Mall. Normally I would rather be dipped in boiling water than spend a day at the mall, but after the girls left to spend money, Mike and I talked hunting, fishing, and Packers, and by days end I knew I had made a friend for life. His infectious smile, his jovial personality, his concern for others became very obvious. We made lots of plans that day, I just wish he would have stuck around longer so we could have gotten to them. God bless Sherry, Family and also those of us who lost a great friend. The old adage "only the good die young" certainly applies here. It is obvious he was needed in heaven more than here on earth. We will miss you our friend.

When you're on vacation and you get messages to call home, your heart pounds and you know it's not good. I honestly cannot even think of what Michael's face looks like without a smile on it. One of the nicest, most caring, funniest people ever. I never heard him complain, and every time I talked to him he truly listened. I am honored to be his cousin, and my heart is so sad for Sherry, Nick, Jake, and for my loving aunt Chris and uncle Dan. I love you, cousin Mike.

Oh Mito,
I am lost. You and I have been connected at the heart for every one of our 46 years together as not only cousins, but as brother and sister.
I have few memories from childhood, teens or adulthood that are not somehow tied to you. My heart is broken, and I don't know how to comprehend this. You mean more to me than I can ever explain.
It's truly heartwarming to see photos and read posts and hear stories from so many people that clearly also love you very much! You will live on in the hearts of so many. Rest in Heavenly and pain-free peace, my love.
Rah-Rah.

I had the best weekend that I can remember for a long long time with Mike a short time ago this year. Him Mario Dan and I were having a great time fishing and staying out until 3am by the fire. I talked to him about regretting not being closer with him and Dan and all those guys while they were fishing and hunting and just hanging out. I talked with him about starting to visit more this upcoming summer so we could start fishing together and hanging out because whenever he's around he just makes everyone happy including me. It's impossible not to smile around that guy, I hate that I'll never get the chance to know you more but hopefully someday I'll see you again. I love you Mike.

Heaven is a lot jollier, brighter and funnier now. I think I, and anyone who was blessed enough to know Michael E Diehl, will never be able to fill the giant void this leaves in our lives and in our hearts. But if we all live out each day of our lives like Mike did, his memory will live on forever. Be kind, laugh until you cry, love unconditionally and never stop smiling.
I love you, Mito. I know you'll still be with me every time I get out in the woods or out on the lake. ❤

Mike.....you truly are " one of the good guys"! You are the most kind-hearted, generous soul that I have ever met. You brought a lot of happiness to many, many people....and you will truly be missed.....and certainly NEVER forgotten! Rest in peace brother! You have been more than a friend to our family. You've grown into a brother to my husband a huge influence in the lives of our sons Zach and Chippy mostly at deer camp, teaching them what it means to be a good man. Rest well sweet Mike. You were so well loved, and will be sorely missed.
