Mounty Lewis Dick, 95, of Arco went to be with his Lord on August 17, 2008, at the Lost Rivers Hospital in Arco.
Mounty was born October 25, 1912, in Plummer, Idaho, to M.N. (Marshall) and Laura Dick.
He married Mary Bamberry on March 15, 1936. They were married for 67 years. They moved to the Lost River Valley in 1941, where they farmed and ranched until 1957. Mounty and Mary owned and operated the D-K Motel in Arco for 20 years. Mount carried mail to Howe and the Antelope Valley for 48 years, finally retiring in his 80s. He then spent six years caring for Mary, never leaving her side, as her health failed. Mounty enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and telling tall tales. He was a member of the Lions Club, the Senior Center, the Arco Baptist Church and was the Butte Pirates # 1 Sports Fan. Mount was perhaps most proud of his family and would often brag about each of his children, grandchildren and other family members. Mounty's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Lost River Hospice, Living Center and Hospital for their loving care of Mounty.
Mounty is survived by his sister, Lola Mintun of Arco; children, Lewis (Linda) Dick of Renton, Wash., Mary Lee (Bob) Crump of Riggins, Nancy (Alan) Oliver of Pocatello; six grandchildren, Brenda and Laurie, Robert Scott and Steven, Alana and Jody; 10 great-grandchildren; and Chuck and Karen Pyron and their children, Jason and Rachel whom Mounty considered as his kids and grandkids. He is also survived by numerous other family members who will all miss him. Mounty was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary; his oldest grandson, Martin Lewis Dick; his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, August 20, at the Arco Baptist Community Church. The family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bingham-Marvel Memorial Chapel, 153 Lost River Ave. in Arco. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lost River Senior Center or the Lost Rivers Medical Center Foundation.

I'm sad he's gone, because I loved him; but everytime I think of Mounty
and Mary; I'll smile. We've had some
great times and have happy
memories.

I'm so sorry for the loss of such a great friend. I really loved him and Mary while I lived in Arco.
