Sam Horton Obituary

Sam Ross Horton, 56, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at his home in Pocatello.

He was born Dec. 11, 1955, in Pocatello to Samuel Horton and Wilma Smith Horton. Sam was raised in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School in 1974, and with a degree in nursing from Idaho State University in 1992.

Sam married Lori Brown and they later divorced.

He married Yvonne Youngblood and she preceded him in death.

In 2008, Sam married Kathryn Aggelar.

Sam worked in the health care field at various locations for many years. His favorite activities were reading, bicycle riding, camping, fishing, watching movies and enjoying his pets.

Sam is survived by his wife, Kait Horton; daughter, Nichole Horton; stepchildren, Samantha and Klint; sister, Julie (Tom) Williams; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Horton; mother and stepfather, Wilma and Irvin Nielsen; wife, Yvonne; sisters, Gayle Ruth Horton and Sonja Alexander; brother-in-law, James Alexander; and stepson, Dylin.

As per his wishes, Sam was cremated under the care and direction of Downard Funeral Home, 241 N. Garfield Ave. in Pocatello. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at River of Life Church, 1211 S. Fifth Ave. in Pocatello.
