David Whorf Obituary

SOUTH GLENS FALLS * David N. Whorf, 59, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on May 24, 1947, in Coca Sola, Panama Canal Zone, he was the son of Francis and Sofia (Lewin) Whorf.

David loved to travel and was a civil war enthusiast. Most of all he loved spending time with his pride and joy, his granddaughter, Skyler.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased in death by his brother, Richard Lewin.

Survivors include his wife, Donna (Durkee) Whorf; a son, Jim Whorf; a daughter-in-law, Chris Whorf, and a granddaughter Skyler Whorf, all of South Glens Falls.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 24, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, with the Rev. Robert Nugent officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited and may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 23, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in david's hnor are suggested to The National Kidney Foundation of Northeast New York, 99 Troy Road, Suite 200, East Greenbush, NY 12061; or American Diabetes Association, Capital District Chapter 7, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205.

David's family would like to express their gratitude to 3 West "B" nursing staff at Glens Falls Hospital for their devoted care throughout David's illness.

Dave was a kind and dedicated co-worker at Sherwood Medical where we spent many hours together in Quality Control. He loved to talk about his family and his love for you all was very evident. I am so sorry for your loss.
