Eleanor MacNeil Obituary

GREENWICH * Eleanor M. MacNeil, 74, a resident of Mowry Avenue, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 1, 2006, at her home.

Born Aug. 31, 1931, in East Greenbush, she was the daughter of Robert and Helen (Allen) Deuel.

Eleanor was a home health care nurse assistant for many years.

She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Greenwich, a member of the United Methodist Women of the Church, and a member of the Schuylerville Garden Club.  Her many enjoyments included golfing.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond MacNeil, and two sisters, Dorcas Croff and Dorothy Kipp.

Survivors are her children: Brent Bentley of Argyle, Bruce Bentley of Hartford, Herbert Bentley of Madison, Mo., Vicki Petteys of Cape Coral, Fla., and Alan MacNeil of Buskirk; her sisters, Joan Loomis and Helen Weir of Greenwich;  15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 7, at Greenwich Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

The family suggests memorials in her name be made to the Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 84, Greenwich, NY 12834.

Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich.

To The Family of Eleanor,

My thoughts and prayers are with Eleanor's family. To lose a loved one so unexpectantly, and so quickly is difficult. But to know that Eleanor didn't suffer helps the pain. I will miss her every day.
