Julie "Lynn" Stancliffe
Aug. 1, 1938 - May 16, 2024
SARATOGA - Lynn was known as a dedicated wife and mother, summer camp organizer to her grandchildren, fearless leader to her scouts, creative artist to the local community, ambassador for the Sister City Program and advocate for her patients.
Lynn, age 85, left us peacefully on May 16, 2024. There is not enough space to adequately describe her history and impact on our lives. Her education started at Knot Terrace HS, then Colorado University where she still has many friends to this day.
She became a certified Physical Therapist and had her own private practice. In addition, she continued her passion in the arts and had her own home pottery studio. Her candle pots are still her family's favorite! If you were so lucky, you were also a recipient of her handy knitting work. Our family is blessed with her winter hats and Christmas stockings.
For many years she was highly involved in the Girl Scouts and Red Cross. She made a lifelong impact to her troop members who still connect today. Canoe Camp, hot air ballooning, trips to CO and CA, silly songs/skits and many, many s'mores around campfires will never be forgotten. The ballooning led to a vibrant sister city program between Glens Falls, NY and Saga City, Japan.
Her loss is felt an ocean away but if you are fortunate enough to visit you will see her pottery showcased in their city hall. Grandchildren will forever remember special cousin time at Camp Grammy! Caper charts of chores, greased watermelon contests, Pioneer driving through the woods, puzzles, fireworks, hours swimming in the pond and making wishing boats filled their week.
Most recently she enjoyed her friends at Prestwick Chase and watching the wildlife from her window with her faithful furry friend, Buddy.
Lynn is predeceased by former husbands: Curt Stancliffe and Cloyd Kerchner. She leaves behind children: Matthew Kerchner, Todd Crow and Julie Morin (and son-in-law, JF Morin), Annette Kissinger, David and John Stancliffe; sister and brother-in-law, Marianna "Pooky" and Chip Fowler; and countless grandchildren.
Lynn did not go anywhere without her calendar and list. There is no doubt she is orchestrating an event where she can be in charge! When you have a moment, please raise your glass (ideally Chardonay) and toast this beautiful lady. "Good-Bye Ruby Tuesday", you will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to: Sister City Committee of Glens Falls/Warren County, PO Box 2598, Glens Falls, NY 12801.

We, Riko and Keishi Hotsuki do not know how to thank you enough. You have been so kind to help us since we came to New York in 2005 and you were like our American mother. We still remember numerous Thanksgiving Days you have invited us in with your own family. We remember you drove all the way to Westchester to join Mia´s grandparents day. We also remember your strong leadership to make Saga - Glens Falls sister city partnership. And above all you were the best friend of Kimiko - Riko´s mother in Japan. Thank you so much for everything you did for all of us. We will never forget your generosity and kindness. Keishi and Riko

Aunt Lynn made everyone feel welcome. She had a way of throwing a party that allowed you to let loose and have a great time. Her get togethers hosted people from many different walks of life, who never would have met otherwise, and a great time was had by all. She was also very generous to so many people, and had no need for anyone else to know how she had helped you. I will always remember her holiday baking.

Aunt Lynn brought me to the Saratoga Ballet when I was about 8. I loved all dressed up and getting to go with just her.

One of my favorite memories of Aunt Lynn was playing with clay in her studio. I remember it being such a treat and feeling so special.
