Peter Strasser Obituary

GLENS FALLS -- Peter A. Strasser, 66, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness.

Born on July 27, 1939, in Southampton, N.Y., he was the son of the late Anthony J. Strasser and Velma (Young) Strasser.

Mr. Strasser graduated from Lake George Central School, Class of 1957. He attended Villanova University in Pennsylvania.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, A2C, serving from 1962-1964.

Mr. Strasser was employed as a systems analyst for Glens Falls Insurance Co, prior to his work with the New York State Facilities Development Corp. in Albany, where he retired after 27 years. He then was employed by Genpak of Glens Falls.

He was an Oakland Raiders football fan and a classic-car enthusiast.

Mr. Strasser is survived by four children: Michael S. Strasser and his fiancee, Susan Corlew, of Lake George, John A. Strasser and his significant other, Laurie Krug, of Glens Falls, Sheryl Hutchison and her husband, John, of Lawrenceville, N.J., and Mark A. Strasser of Clifton Park; their mother, Jacqueline Hazlett, of Warrensburg; two siblings, G. Sally Strasser of Glens Falls, and Sandra Klumm and her husband, David, of Lake Mary, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Warren Street, Glens Falls, with the Rev. James Mackey, pastor, officiating.

A Rite of Committal will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Birch Avenue, Lake George.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Stafford Funeral Home, Inc., 90 Montcalm St., Lake George.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 959 State Route 9, Queensbury, NY 12804.
