John F. Chieffo

JOHN F. CHIEFFO, 93, OF GILBERTSVILLE John F. Chieffo, 93, widower of Agnes F. (Ewanick) Chieffo, of Buchert Road, Gilbertsville, died Tuesday at his residence. Born in Stowe, he was the son of the late Salvatore & Rose (Bosco) Chieffo. Mr. Chieffo had worked for the former Doehler-Jarvis Co. of Stowe for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Aloysius R.C.C., Beech and Hanover Streets in Pottstown. Surviving is a son, Edward G. Chieffo, husband of Helen of Stowe; his daughter, Mary Ann, wife of J. Scott Rogers, with whom he resided in Gilbertsville, and daughter Catherine R. Handforth of Birdsboro. John is also survived by a sister, Philomena, widow of Albert Gatta, and six grandchildren, Karen, wife of Robert Burns; Donna, wife of Eric Irey; Michael Rogers, husband of Adrian; Jennifer Handforth; Chrissy Handforth, and James Chieffo. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Mr. Chieffo is predeceased by his wife, Agnes, and his son, James J. Chieffo, late husband of Jody. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Aloysius R.C.C. on Friday January 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Buchert Road, Lower Pottsgrove Township.
