Martha Downey Obituary

MARTHA A. DOWNEY, 84, OF PHOENIX, AZ Martha A. Downey, 84, of Phoenix, Arizona, died Saturday, December 14, 2013 after an extended illness. She was a longtime resident of the Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, area and former member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church. In 1994, she and her husband retired to Phoenix, Arizona where they attended St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Martha was born October 1, 1929 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to the late William and Mary (Deehan) Fraser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F.; sister, Elizabeth Curley; daughter, Marianne Bleimeyer; and grandson, Michael A. She is survived by a sister, Mary Best, of Marshall, Texas; sons, Edward F. of Rolla, Missouri and William J. of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Patricia Myers of Arendtsville, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; plus numerous beloved nieces and nephews and their families. A Mass of Christian Burial will be performed at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 330 W Coral Gables Drive, Phoenix, Arizona. Her ashes will be interred alongside those of her husband at National Cemetery in Phoenix.
