Charleen Tarant Obituary
BEACON - Charleen G. Tarant, a longtime Beacon resident, passed away at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie on Monday, July 4, 2011. She was 66.
Born in McAllen, Texas on March 13, 1945, Charleen was the daughter of Charles and Marguerite Inger Grant. On November 4, 1967 Charleen married Philip A. Tarant. Mr. Tarant survives at home. Charleen worked for Texaco, left to raise her family, and then worked for the Newburgh Auto Auction. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially in the summertime in the backyard by the pool. She also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.
In addition to her husband, Charleen is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Tarant and his wife, Kathleen of Newburgh, Scott Tarant of Milton, NY and Jason Tarant of Newburgh; her grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Allison; her brothers, James Grant and his wife, Peggy and Robert Grant; her brother-in-law, Gary Tarant and his wife, Paulette; her three nieces, Anna, Jennifer and Kelsey.
In addition to her parents, Charleen was predeceased by her brother, Gary Grant.
The family will receive their friends on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
