Clive Collins Obituary
Clayton, NC - Clive Allan Collins, 85, of Clayton, NC passed away at his residence on June 19, 2021.
He was born April 29, 1936, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was the son of Hansford and Jewel Collins.
He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1961 with a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering. He accepted a Junior Engineering position with IBM and relocated to Poughkeepsie, NY to begin his career with IBM. Through hard work, dedication, and numerous patents, he achieved the position of Senior Technical Staff Member. After 33 years with IBM, Clive retired with his wife, Donna to Clayton, NC.
During his 33 years in Poughkeepsie, Clive was involved as a coach in youth bowling, and girls softball. Clive continued his support of youth sports in Clayton, NC by sponsoring Little League Baseball and youth soccer.
Surviving are his daughter, Marcia Collins of Clayton, NC; son Allan Collins and daughter-in-law MaryJane Collins of Angier, NC; daughter Alicia Bates and son-in-law Gregory Bates of Advance, NC; grandchildren, Emily Bates, and Daniel and his wife Callie Bates; and Sara and Shane Collins, and great granddaughter Avery Bates. Clive was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Donna Jo in 2000.
Final arrangements were handled by National Cremation Service, Raleigh, NC. The family will host a Celebration of Life for Clive on July, 10th.

To Clive's family; sorry to read of Clive's passing. We worked together on many advanced technology projects at IBM over many years. He was my go-to guy for advanced semiconductor cooling and power. I always admired his knowledgeable and innovative.
