Delores Hoff

Wappingers Falls - Delores M. Hoff, 85, an area resident since 1968 and formerly of Illinois and Wisconsin, died on September 29, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Janesville, WI on July 15, 1933, she was the daughter of George and Stella (Yale) Bancroft. Delores trained to become a Registered Nurse at the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL and worked at several hospitals including Mercy Hospital in Janesville, WI.

Delores was an active member of the Fishkill United Methodist Church for 50 years. She and her husband enjoyed playing golf, dining out, and spending their winters in Myrtle Beach, SC. Delores enjoyed spending time with her special group of friends for game night, bus trips to New York City, and sharing meals together. More than anything, she cherished time with her family.

On January 5, 1957 at the Cargill Methodist Church, Janesville, WI, Delores married the love of her life, Mylen "Bud" Hoff who predeceased her on June 2, 2014. She is survived by her children, Carole Hoff Repose of Hopewell Junction, Kathy Hoff Knauss and her husband Raymond of Wappingers Falls, Ronald O. Hoff and his wife Melissa of Apex, NC, and Brian D. Hoff and his wife Sandy of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren, Adam and Connor Repose, Alex and Mitch Knauss, Erica Hoff, and Jennifer and Kevin Hoff; her sister, Barbara Barthel; her faithful companion and dog, Louie; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Betty Cullen, Leone Miller and Walt Bancroft.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11am at the Fishkill United Methodist Church, 38 Broad Street, Fishkill followed by interment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

We remember all the good times we had with Delores & Bud in Poughkeepsie & Myrtle Beach. Ernie loved playing golf with Bud & the crew. We miss them.

We re so sorry to learn of your Mom's passing.
Ernie & I have wonderful memories of spending winters with your folks in Myrtle Beach. The guys would play golf & we women in the group would get together & enjoy each other's company. Ernie & I had many fun lunches & dinners with Delores & Bud.
In Poughkeepsie Ernie & Bud had their golf foursome & enjoyed playing weekly at Casperkill Golf Club. Often times Delores & I would meet up with them after golf and the four of us would then go out to dinner. As you can tell we all enjoyed eating out! Your Mom was a wonderful, kind, thoughtful person who had many friends. Her family was her world, as was Louie, her faithful companion. She will be missed by all. We are comforted by knowing your Mom & your Dad are together again.
I sent you our condolences previously but saw that for some reason it wasn't in the messages when we checked back later. I'm so sorry about that.

My sincere condolences to Delores' family and my heart goes out to all of you.she was my true friend through High school,nursing school and as R.N.s at Swedish American and U.W.Madison hospitals. WE were attendants at each other weddings and enjoyed our long distance phone chats about our husbands,children and lately health problems. Now I,ll talk to her in prayers.

Dear Brian, Kathy, Carol and Ron,

What a pleasure to have known your dear mother for so many years. She was always a joy to be with. We had so much fun especially at all the Mexican restaurants and consignment shops in the Myrtle Beach area every winter.

It is very rare to know someone who never complained, never angry, never frowned....just a privilege to have as a friend.

May she rest in peace with her dear husband.
One can hardly think of Delores without Bud.... or
Bud without Delores. And now they will be together forever.

I'm so sorry for your lost. I attend the Fishkill United Methodist Church and I have known Delores for a long time. She was a faithful church member and a very special woman.
