Frank Rinaldi Obituary

Frank Joseph Rinaldi, Jr.

Glasgow, Scotland - Frank passed away peacefully on February 23rd, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland, with his wife Shirley by his side, while visiting family in Scotland.

Born Feb 7, 1945 to Frank J. Rinaldi and Adeline Klein in Yonkers NY, Frank resided in the Hudson Valley most of his life. He served in the Navy, stationed on the USS Forestall (CV-59) during the Vietnam War. Family and his Naval service were two of his proudest accomplishments.

Frank was a long time member of the Hudson Valley Ski club and the Dutchess County Scottish Society. Frank worked locally for many years at Bottini Fuel. His sense of humor and ability to tell a "dad joke" were legendary.

Frank is survived by his wife Shirley, children Jennifer Paden, Allison Nordmann, Renée Rinaldi, Gillian Blain, Joseph Rinaldi, and Lisa Marie Martinez, their partners, his 15 grandchildren, and former wife Dr. Frances J. Rofrano. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Hicks, brother David Rinaldi, their spouses, several nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law Esther West and his family in Scotland.

As Frank loved good food and good company, there will also be a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1-4 PM at Poughkeepsie Day School for anyone who would like to attend. Friends and family are invited to bring an appetizer or dessert to share. To RSVP or get more information, please contact [email protected].

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: https://www.gofundme.com/celebrating-frank-j-rinaldi-jr for a memorial plaque on the Walkway Over The Hudson, where Frank proudly volunteered.

I think that at one time long ago Frank was perhaps trying to find out if we were related. We have the same name. I doubt that we are related. I'll be praying that he enters heaven sooner than later.

There have been a lot of tears the past few weeks here at Bottini Fuel. He always had a knack of bringing smiles to our faces and making us laugh. I am so thankful for knowing him. He will always hold a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with his entire amazing family at this time.

Frank was a shinning light in everyones lives. He always had an optimistic view of life. He knew how to enjoy himself by staying close to his friends and family. He will be missed.

Shirley and family, So sorry atso read of Frank's passing. I have been out of touch for the past few years as I now live in Florida. I remember many, many good times at events through HVSC with Frank and all. If I am in NY on April 28 I will stop by.
