Jessica Lucas Obituary
LaGrange - Jessica Mary Lucas born August 23rd 1963, loving mother of three beautiful daughters, a dedicated animal advocate, passed away October 16th, 2012. Jessica is survived by her daughters Lindsay, Nicole and Olivia of Poughkeepsie, NY, her loving mother, Gloria Lucas of Kingston, NY, her dear friend Jay and her father, Charles Lucas of Brownwood, TX.
Visitation will be held from 12 pm-4 pm on Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Furry Friends Pet Rescue, Inc. PO Box 1242, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533.
May I realize for good or bad, past days have ended. May I face each new day with hope and courage.

Jessica you touch so many lives.you have the heart of gold. you would give the shirt off your back if somebody need it. i loved your smile it would light up the room when you walked in it.I'm glad a got a chance to know. you will be missed and loved. Jessica came into our lives and, with her sparkling smile, lit up our home and helped end a bleak, cancer-ridden period. She loved our animals--all of them--and they loved her. She helped hang my prayer flags and graced the gardens that the flags protected. I trusted her and, through our conversations, found a soul sister. We talked enough to know that Jessica believes (present tense intended) in a journey beyond this life. As we say in mountaineering, travel safe, travel well. I hope to feel your presence again. Our love to all those who dared to love Jessica. Love is a risk, but it pays backs multifold. Jessica thank you for blessing our house with your love. Peace in your new life, Deborah, Rich, and all our critters, who loved you unconditionally.

Owe how time flies, we haven't seen each other for some time.I am so sad we have to say goodbye, I remember singing on Rte 9, You tought me all of the nursery ryhmes. But at my end we will meet again, though were far apart, you're always in my heart so rest sweet Jesse, rest.

Jessica my life was never the same after you came into it and now it will never be the same without you. The silence without you and your laughter in the world is deafening...
You were like my sista from another mista and I will forever hold you in my heart dearly.
Thank you for all the memories, for always listening and giving advice, for being my partner in crime messing with the customers and cracking jokes, and for bringing my dog Shea into my life. She will also miss her Auntie Jessica and our adventures hiking and swimming with the pack.
I pray that you have found the peace you so much deserved to have and that you and Kevin are up in heaven causing mischief like two little kids.
Rest now sweet Jessica. Keep a close eye on those beautiful girls of yours and be their guardian angel.

Imagine if I was given one moment,
just a single slice of my past.

and that moment would always last.
I'd put the moment in a safe,
within my hearts abode.
I could open it when I wanted,
and only I would know the code.
I could choose a time of laughing,
a time of happiness and fun.
I could choose a time that tried me,
through everything I've done.
I sat and thought about what moment,
would always make me smile.
One that would always push me,
to walk that extra mile.
If I'm feeling sad and low,
if I'm struggling with what to do.
I can go and open my little safe,
and watch my moment through.
There are moments I can think of,
that would lift my spirits every time.
The moments when you picked me up,
when the road was hard to climb.
For me to only pick one moment,
to cherish, save and keep,
Is proving really difficult,
as I've gathered up a heap!
I've dug deep inside my heart,
found the safe and looked inside,
there was room for lots of moments,
in fact hundreds if I tried.
I'm building my own little library,
embedded in my heart,
for all the moments spent with you,
before you had to part.
I can open it up whenever I like,
pick a moment and watch it through,
My little library acts as a promise,

I have written in this block for thirty minutes now, only to add, and delete words. I have come to the conclusion that there are no words to help ease the pain of losing Jessica. Just please know that I care and wish I could hold you all tight. I will honor her wish of helping the animals at Furry Friends Rescue in her name. Love you guys and absolutley thinking of you all.
