Michael Slinskey Obituary
Slinskey
BEACON - Michael J. Slinskey, a longtime Beacon resident, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Home in Newburgh. He was 72.
Born in Beacon on June 1, 1938, Michael was the son of Michael and Mary Loretta Sealey Slinskey. Michael was employed by the Green Fan Company and Nienni Construction.
Michael enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid Yankees and Elvis fan. Michael touched many people with his singing, laughter and sense of humor.
Michael is survived by his sons, Michael of Hopewell Junction and Joseph of Lancaster, KY; his sister, Sophie Carmaltano, Poughkeepsie; sister-in-law, Dolly Slinskey, Newburgh; two nieces, Linda Murray, Newburgh and Debra Slinskey, Beacon; four nephews, Robert Slinskey, West Palm Beach, FL Michael Slinskey, West Palm Beach, FL; Vito Carmaltano, Wappingers Falls and Michael Carmaltano, Hopewell Junction; four grandchildren; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Joseph.
The family will receive their friends on Thursday, February 3, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m.

I was saddened to read of Mike's passing. When I lived in Beacon, whenever I saw Mike, he was never without a smile for me. I'm sure my mom already had the spaghetti & meatballs waiting for him. God Bless You all!
