Robert J. Ebeling

Beacon - Robert J. Ebeling, a lifelong resident of Beacon, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in the Bronx. He was 67.

Born on September 5, 1946 in Beacon he was the son of Louis and Hilda Dettling Ebeling. On June 15, 1968 Robert married the former Christine Melius. Mrs. Ebeling survives at home. Robert proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force from 1968 to 72. He worked for Philips Components in Saugerties. Robert was very active in the community. He was a volunteer at the Animal Rescue Foundation in Beacon, coached soccer for Beacon Rec, was Past President and Trustee of the Beacon Board of Education, Past President of J.V. Forrestal PTSO.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his son, Robert Ebeling and his wife, Traci of Flatwoods, KY; his daughter, Lisa M. Ebeling of Beacon; his grandchildren, Harleigh, Laney & Kylie Ebeling; his nieces and nephews, Kathy Miccio, Steve Garrison, Larry Garrison and Linda Alexis.

Robert was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Garrison.

The family will receive their friends on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon. Burial will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill.
