Angelo Ventresca, Jr., 69, of Montrose, Pa., departed his earthly life and was welcomed into eternal life on Thursday, December 6, 2007, after a valiant battle against cancer. Angelo was born December 9, 1937 in Allentown, Pa., he was the son of the late Angelo S. and Amelia (Santacroce) Ventresca. Besides his parents; his first wife, Edith (Festa) Ventresca (1970); and second wife, Margaret (Moran) DiPhillips (2005), predeceased him. He graduated from LaSalle High School and then obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from LaSalle University of Philadelphia, Pa., and a Master's Degree in Analytical Chemistry from Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pa. He was employed as a chemist for VIZ Manufacturing and Wyeth Labs in the Philadelphia area. He also had a broad business background beginning in 1951. Angelo's businesses included landscaping, construction, retailing and financial services. After college graduation, Angelo taught college chemistry at LaSalle for several years. In 1978 he established Angelo Ventresca Associates in Jessup Township, Susquehanna County. He was a member of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, the Rush I.O.O F. #471, Rush Lodge, the Order Sons of Italy in America, and he also served on the Community Advisory Committee for the Montrose Area School District. Angelo was passionate in establishing Angelo Ventresca Associates, a client-centered tax preparation and financial consulting firm. Much of Angelo's energy and knowledge was funneled into his business where serving clients was his hobby. Angelo raised his family and grandchildren according to his Italian family values. He inspired his value of education, practical financial management and work ethic in his children. As a strict father, he also had a soft spot for each of his children's desires and talents. Angelo is survived by his loving wife, Judy Ventresca and her daughters and son-in-law, Shannon Albert, Los Gatos, Calif., Wendy and David Lany, Greenville, N.C.; his children whom he deeply loved, daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Robert Fassler, Montrose, Pa., Diane and John Koloski, Montrose, Pa.; sons and daughters-in-law, Angelo III and Alessandra Ventresca, Oklahoma City, Okla., Ken and Ellen DiPhillips, Montrose, Pa.; grandchildren, Joey, Julia, MiMi, Richie, David, Daniela, Sammy, Madison, Josh, Jessica, Seth; and a sister and brother-in-law, Margarita and Vittorio Rossi, Hazelton, Pa.
