Such a loss. I knew George intimately from our time together in Heavenly Valley and San Francisco. Sincere condolences to his beloved family.

George, you left many great and positive memories. Friends from Lourdes and BCHS will never forget you. Your generosity and easygoing manner were only exceeded by your loyalty to your friends.
I never got to thank you for the great time you treated Gun Marie I to on your visits to our home in New Jersey (especially prior to Tom’s wedding).
It is easy to see clearly now where your kindness came from.
Your Mother Mary drove from Binghamton to Hamilton, N.Y. in the early 60’s to pick me up after I had an auto accident (53 Ford front end collision) while attending a football game (party) at Colgate University – to get me out of a jam.
I am honored to have been your friend.

Gorgy, What a love you were. Senior year at St. Pat's would not have been the same without you. You accomplished alot. I can't imagine you resting. I will always remember your smile. Say hello to Jan and Joie for me. Rest in peace.

Hey Wats: many fond memories of you, especially at Lourdes, will always be with me. You were a good friend during adolescence and teen years, but damn hard to keep up with! Rest in Peace with your beloved Mom and Dad.

George was one of those guys we all wanted to be. He was a good friend of my cousin Leo and always treated me like a little buddy, whether down at Bills or up at Lourdes Camp. George shared his charm and success with his friends, and all will surely miss him.

Gorgy, We shared the best of our youth, in all its poignancy, at a time when Johnny Mathis rather than Rap ruled. We forged a bond that was never really broken and made memories I will never forget. Now you have gone forth into the still of the night. You departed too soon, but remain in our hearts. Faith

George,

May God bless you for all the laughs and fun you provided for others.
Would love to be enjoying one of your famous Bloody Marys along with the burger, etc. at the Bucket Shop in Underground right now, with you behind the bar. Great memories of working, water skiing, and crossing the lake with you at Lourdes Camp, driving your famous crinkled VW, representing the Hogan Family at your wedding in St. Louis, and enjoying your many restaurants in Atlanta from 1969 to 1971. All the best to you, your mother, and grandfather at your reunion. You will always be remembered with prayers as a good and helpful friend.
It was my pleasure and lucky fortune to know you, George.
Always keep them laughing your way!

George will indeed be missed by the thousands of friends who knew him at St. Pat's, Binghamton Central, Lourdes Camp, the University of Tampa, and in Atlanta. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Lyon Botnick, a longtime employee of Olum's Furniture Store and also Vestal Hills Country Club. May his soul, and hers, rest in peace.
