DeVincentis, Giorgina D.

Our beloved mother and friend, Giorgina Maria DeVincentis (Pirozzi), 79, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2016. Giorgina was born in Vacri, Italy on April 23, 1937, a daughter of Carmine and Italina Pirozzi. She was predeceased by her husband, Antonio DeVincentis; sister Emma Porecca; brother-in-law Raimondo DeVincentis. Giorgina is survived by son Marco DeVincentis, son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Colleen DeVincentis, son John DeVincentis, and daughter and son-in-law Maria and Scott McAlister;grandchildren Stephanie DeVincentis-Ament and husband Lee, Padraic DeVincentis, Matthew McAlister, Elizabeth McAlister; dear sister, Linda DeVincentis; brother and sister-in-law, Sandro and Lisa Pirozzi; brother-in-law Rocco Porecca; special nephews and their wives Robert and Cathy DeVincentis, Ricky and Milena DeVincentis; along with great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Giorgina was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was cooking for her family and preparing holiday meals. Her Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing were second to none. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends. Giorgina worked at Binghamton General Hospital for over 15 years. She enjoyed working, and staying active by walking everywhere. Giorgina was always one to stop and listen if you needed to talk. She always put others before herself, and we will forever miss her kind heart and beautiful smile. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church on December 28, 2016 at 11am. The family will receive friends at at church from 10am until 11am. The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL., and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. Your dedication and compassion will be remembered always. Arrangements are with Albert J. DeMarco at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home Inc.

I am so sad to hear this. Maria was a wonderful woman I worked with for many years,. She was the most caring person, always talking about her family, Proudly sharing pictures of her grandchildren. And asking about the families of all her friends. She will be missed.
