He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nellie Quattrini Tyler; a sister, Dawn (Robert) Bowman; a brother, Carl Tyler; and a sister-in-law, Roseanne Tyler; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jon and Tina Tyler, Concord, N.C., Scott and LynnErin Tyler, Charlotte, N.C., Gary and Tracy Tyler, Kirkwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Eric Schrader, Endicott; six special grandchildren, Mary and John Tyler, Madeline and Grace Schrader, and Nathan and Iris Tyler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Marlene Quattrini, Peter Quattrini, Janelle Quattrini; and James Quattrini; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Jack began his career of 35 years as a software engineer at Singer Link Flight Simulation. He took great pride in his work and often traveled all over the country and throughout Europe for his job. Jack's greatest pride, however, was with his family. He was an avid sports fan, especially basketball, hockey and baseball. He always held season tickets to the local hockey team and attended games for as long as he was able. He was often teased for his unique loyalty to both UNC and Duke basketball, as he had a son graduate from each school. Jack enjoyed fishing and vacationing with his family at Topsail Island, N.C. Additionally, he had a special interest in airplanes and enjoyed attending air shows with his family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary's Church, 975 Rt. 11, Kirkwood, Thursday, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the J.A.
