Paul Feodor Karakozoff

KARAKOZOFF, Paul Feodor Passed away at home (where he wanted to be), in Cotati on May 13, 2002. Loving husband of 57 years to Christina Karakozoff, who adored him; beloved father of Michael P. Karakozoff, Alexander L. Karakozoff and his wife Julie; dear grandfather of Claire and Elena. He immigrated from near Tanna Tuva, Siberia, resided in Manchuria, traveled through Japan to Baja California and on to Bryte, California. A graduate of Woodland High School and the University of Washington and two year footballer at the University of Southern California. A former Alaskan gold miner, First Lieutenant in World War II, who translated for General Eisenhower’s staff at the Pottsdam Conference and foreign trader. A long time resident of San Francisco, he was best known as a restaurateur, owning Paul’s Coffee Cup on 2nd Street and Lancers Restaurant on Market Street. A 60 year member of the Free and Accepted Masons including the Lafayette Lodge #126 in Sebastopol, Speranza Lodge #30 in San Francisco and past president of the San Francisco Islam Rod & Gun Club. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, an inveterate fisherman, master canner, marksman and avid hunter. Loved by all his relatives and dear friends, Paul will be remembered as a devoted father and husband, wonderful friend, great lover of living, the self made man, bigger than life and epitome of the American Dream. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on May 25, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lafayette Masonic Lodge #126, 373 North Main Street, Sebastopol. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed in Memory of Paul F. Karakozoff to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 2425 Stockton Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95817.
