J. ROOT Obituary

ROOT, J. GREG - After a brief illness, Greg died on December 9, 2012 at his home in Cinnaminson, at the age of 70. Beloved husband for 37 years of Donna (nee Dean). Loving father if Jennifer Wood (Kevin) of West Jordan, Utah and Greg D. of Long Beach Island, NJ. Grandfather of Tyler, Bethany, Matthew and Olivia. He is survived by his brother John (Anita) of Niceville, FLA and his mother-in-law Jean Dean of Ship Bottom, NJ. Greg was raised in Albion, NY. He was predeceased by his father Robert Root and his mother Jane Jackson. He attended Manlius Prep in Syracuse, NY and North-eastern in Boston, Mass. He was a "nuke" in Admiral Rickover's program and served on Polaris and fast attack submarines for eleven years. After the Navy Greg entered the medical imaging field. He was involved in development , marketing and sales of nuclear medicine, ultrasound and M.R. He retired in 1999. Greg was a passionate fan of Formula One and open wheel racing, rooted for the Phillies and maintained a keen interest in national politics and world affairs. Funeral services are private.
