Jimmie "Chub" Tolbert

Tolbert, Jimmie "Chub", - 32, of Decatur, GA gained his wings to be with our heavenly Father in Decatur, GA, on Monday, June 20, 2022. Chub was in born and raised in Atlantic City and attended the public schools. He had a passion for football and had played for the AC Dolphins and the ACHS Vikings. He relocated to Decatur in 2021 and was employed as a security guard while working to start his music career. He created his own music label, "Black City Ink" and became known as "Slizzy" in the local music industry. Chub is predeceased by his father, Jimmie Tolbert. He is survived by his daughter, Destiny Duggins; his mother, Patricia (Barley) Tolbert; three brothers, Fred Barley, Jimmie (Pop) Tolbert and Stevenson Tolbert; two sisters, Kesha Barley and Juanita Tolbert; five nieces, Destiny, December, Desire, Alnisa and Mya; eight nephews, Mario, David, Michael, Fred, Sutton, Deshawn, Antwan and Jamie; and will be deeply missed by family and friends and all who knew him. Services will be held at 11AM Friday, July 8, 2022, at Second Baptist Church, 110 Rev. Dr. I.S. Cole Plaza, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 10AM. Interment in Atlantic City Cemetery.
