Leah Krafft Obituary

Krafft, Leah A., - 82, of Absecon, passed away March 16, 2023, peacefully with her family by her side. Born in Lakehurst, NJ, she has been a 55 year resident of Absecon. Leah was a librarian with the Absecon Library for 30 years, retiring in 2017. She attended Holy Spirit High School where she was a member of the drum and bugle corp. She was involved with the Ms. Absecon Pageant and was in charge of chaperones for the pageant contestants. She was a member and past president of the Absecon Jayceettes. In her free time, she enjoyed playing poker at the Borgata with her poker group, reading and doing word search and finds. She loved spending time at the beach, especially 43rd Street in Brigantine. She also loved to travel across the United States and Europe with her husband.

She is predeceased by her parents, Wesley F. and Mary Elizabeth (Cornell) Umphred; and her brother, Robert Cornell. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, George T. Krafft, Jr.; her children, Susan Devecchio (Andrew Jr.), Dawn Heuer (Chip), Stefanie Gould (Mark) and Karen Warren (Ken); her brother, Joseph Cornell (Carol); her grandchildren, Andrew III (Heather), Anthony (Danielle), Alex, Beth (Tylor), Rachel (Dallas), Daniel (Sarah), Leah, Connor (Desirae), Tyler, Carly and Sean; and her 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11AM to 1PM on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will follow at the funeral home at 1PM. Burial will be private.
