Richard Wilson Obituary

Richard "Dick" Thomas Wilson

February 7, 1942 - August 17, 2025

Richard "Dick" Thomas Wilson, 83, of Brigantine, N.J., passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. Born on February 2, 1942, in Atlantic City, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Ruth (Stevens) Wilson.

Richard was the beloved husband of Antoinette Wilson for 58 years. He was a devoted father to Malinda Marie Cunningham (Jason), Michael Mark Wilson (predeceased), and Pamela Ann Hoffman (Richard). He was a cherished Pop-Pop to Zachary Charles and Alexander John Hoffman. Richard was preceded in death by his in-laws, Philomena and John Arena; and brothers, Joseph and Frank Wilson.

Richard was a graduate of Atlantic City High School (1960) and continued his education at Atlantic Community College and Glassboro College. He was an immensely proud U.S Marine Corps veteran, earning the Rifle Expert Badge.

For 34 years, he taught shop at Eugene Tighe School, inspiring students to build with confidence and pride. He was a longtime member of St. Thomas Church, and found joy in reading, fishing, boating along the Jersey shore, traveling, and visiting family.

He treasured his friendships deeply. Weekly visits with Bill Hoffman sparked spirited political debates, earning him the nickname "Tricky Dick." His fishing buddy, Bob Hoffman, was like a second son, sharing countless hours on the water and in conversation.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Life Celebration and viewing for Richard on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 9 to 10:20 a.m. at the Keates-Plum Funeral Home, 3112 West Brigantine Ave., Brigantine. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. at St Thomas Church, Brigantine. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
