Ronald Palmisano Obituary

Palmisano, Ronald A., - 93, of Galloway, died peacefully at home on April 13, 2021. Ron was born on June 29, 1927 in Somers Point, NJ to Leonard and Annamarie Palmisano. In 1945, he joined the Army Air Corps at the age of 16. In 1946, Ron discharged from the Army Air Corps to re-enlist in the Air Force where he was a Corporal. He proudly served his country in World War II and the Korean War before coming home to attend Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Ron was a talented musician who sang and played many instruments but was known most for playing the upright bass. Ron played with Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, and Judy Garland to name a few. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Phyllis Diorio. Ron was a hard worker and dedicated family man. There's nothing he wouldn't do for or with his family including Paint Ball Games well into his 80s! Anyone who knew him knew that Ron was up for anything and loved to make people laugh. Ron became involved with many organizations including the Redman Kickapoo Tribe, Odd Fellows, and he was named "Motivator" for the Chrome Angelz RC as he championed it going national and in turn international. He is survived by his children, Annamarie Sesta (Larry), Ronald Jr, Diann DeMarco, Michael (fiancé Kim Delridge), and Frank (Lynn); his 12 grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Larry (Jane); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis; his children-in-law, Nancy, Joseph DeMarco, and Evelyn; and his grandson-in-law, Dave Transue. A viewing will take place on Sunday, April 18th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wimberg Funeral Home, 211 E. Great Creek Rd, Galloway, 609-641-0001. Burial will be held on Monday, April 19th at 11:00 AM at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Chrome Angelz Angel Fund and mailed to 414 S. Yam Ave, Galloway, NJ 08205. For condolences, please visit wimbergfuneralhome.com.
