THOMAS JOHN "UNC" COSTA

COSTA, THOMAS JOHN "UNC" 83 - of Egg Harbor City went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents John and Loretta Costa and his siblings Mark Costantini, Margaret Edwards, Clara Patten, Christina Dellanoce, James (Vincent), Joseph, and Jean Darazio. He is survived by his sister-in-law Elizabeth Whitcraft. He was a good friend to many, a talented chef, a successful businessman and a man of great faith. He was a devoted Catholic and he loved St. Nicholas Church where he attended Mass daily. He served his country with pride during the Korean War. Upon returning to the states he started his culinary career in South Jersey. He first worked at a major hotel in Atlantic City, then at Smithville Inn before he started his own business, Costantini Caterers. After he retired he was a dedicated volunteer at the Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation. Along with catering weddings, business functions, school lunches, and other church affairs, he was proud of his association with the Miss America Organization. A founding member of the Egg Harbor City Historical Society, he was always proud of his hometown. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and his loyal dog, Queenie. Visitation Saturday, February 9th 11am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Nicholas Church 525 St. Louis Ave. Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215 under the direction of SARACENO FUNERAL HOME 1114 White Horse Pike Egg Harbor City, NJ.
