THOMAS ELLIOTT LOGAN

LOGAN, THOMAS ELLIOTT 66 - of Swainton, on January 8, 2013 after spending his final days with his beloved family, passed on to begin his eternal life in heaven. Tom was born and lived his early years in Northeast Philadelphia, before moving to New Jersey where he graduated from Merchantville High School. He came to Cape May Court House after his discharge from the Army in 1968, where he served in the 4th Armored Division in Furth Bay, Germany. Over the succeeding years, Tom was an auto mechanic, union carpenter, self-employed building contractor, then a carpenter for the County of Cape May, before eventually becoming Division Manager of Security, Maintenance and Housekeeping at Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He retired in 2008. Tom was active in earlier years as a boys soccer coach, served as a member and Chief of the Middle Township Ambulance Corps, was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Cape May Court House, where he served as Trustee Committee Chairperson, and on several other committees over the years. Tom enjoyed being with his family, fishing on his boat, building or fixing something in his workshop, taking care of the yard, feeding the birds, tending to his fishpond, and appreciating the beauty of nature and the simple pleasures of life. Tom was a loving and devoted husband, and will be forever loved and greatly missed by his wife of 43 years, Jessica (Daniels), his children, Matt Logan and his wife Karen of Cape May Court House, and Gary Logan and his wife Jennifer of Egg Harbor Township, his grandchildren Jonathan, Brett, Brittany, Elizabethe, Taylor, and new great grandson Brandon. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Main and Church Street, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately for the family following the service.
