Wesley Norton Obituary

Norton, Wesley D., - 79, of Linneus, ME passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2023, with family at his side. Wes was born in Pleasantville, New Jersey on April 12th, 1943, the third child to Wesley S. and Evelyn S. Norton. Wes grew up in Northfield and graduated from Pleasantville High School with the class of 1960. He joined the US Air Force in 1962, serving in South East Asia and Iceland. During that time, he received many awards and was honorably discharged in 1966. After the military, Wes worked for IBM, then spent 30 years as a computer analyst for the Federal Aviation Administration, retiring from federal service in 2000. He then worked for an FAA contractor for another three years before deciding to move to Maine where he realized his dream of living in a log cabin. Wes was kind, loyal, and generous. He was extremely intelligent; he was unique; and he was a good man. Wes had two passions: his family and his work. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend. Sometimes he seemed like an extra grandpop. Wes was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Beverly Camp, his brother-in-law, Don Camp, and brother-in-law, Bob Horton. Wes is survived by his sister and caregiver, June Horton and his brother, Ronald Norton. Also surviving are his nieces, Terry Davenport (Scott), Robin Fox (Dennis), Diane Stein (Pete), Lorraine Dearth (Pete) and Beth Rocco; nephew, Tom Horton (Rachel); great nieces and nephews, Josh Davenport (Sami), Nick Davenport (Kristin), Dennis Fox (Jamie Kerr), Joe Fox (Ali), Sam Horton, Matt Horton, Danny Stein (Tian), Kimberly Stein, Sarah Stein, Kevin Dearth (Madeline), Connor Dearth, and Gabby Goldberg (Brandon); great-great nieces and nephews, Paisley and Jase Davenport, Dylan and Blake Davenport, Ryan and Finleigh Fox, Amelia Stein, and Nolan and Ridley Dearth. In keeping with Wes' wishes, there will be no service. If you wish to make a charitable donation in his name, please consider Aroostook House of Comfort or Hospice of Aroostook County.
