I have so many memories of Uncle Steve. Many of my happiest and few fun times as a child were with him. As a child Uncle Steve was such a huge part of my life. We went to the farm for a visit almost every Sunday growing up. I remember vividly when he had a partial car (a frame with a motor, no floor, no doors) which I called a jalopy and took me for a ride up the road (I call it Anderson road but I digress) and how fun it was. Of course our eyes and all of us were covered with dust but we laughed and laughed in between coughing. It was great fun. He also took me on a day run to SLC on his milk truck and stopped and got me a lot of drinks and even ice cream. (He had to make a lot of extra stops which slowed his day because he bought me all those drinks and had to make stops for me so he ran late all day...) I watched the adults play Pinochle for years every week. How excited I was when I was old enough to play Pinochle with the adults. He also rounded all us kids up once and took us fishing down in the swamp (only time I've held a fishing pole). The catfish were smelly but it was great fun. I will always remember his smile, his infectious laugh and the twinkle in his eye when he was teasing or causing trouble. I also remember him and Loila on their horses riding in the Lewiston 4th of July parade, then Loila in the barrel racing competitions, and then them stopping by our house later to watch the fireworks. I have always adored him and so blessed to have my Uncle Steve.

I can't find the right words. I know he is free of pain and illness now and his return led to a beautiful celebration and reunion in heaven. I am so sorry Lesa, Kevin and Sherly and your families. Uncle Steve has always been a hero and so precious to me. I love him so much. I will treasure all the times and memories. He was overall the best and his big heart, sense of humor, honesty, hard work and so much more will remain in all our hearts. How blessed that he left such a large, remarkable family behind to continue his legacy. I am praying for all of you.

I remember Steve and Loila's wedding reception. Mom had us there aa was the practice with every family gathering. I was only 7 years old but I got to dance with my Uncle Steve. I was just in the moment having fun and getting to dance with my UNCLE.
Uncle Steve was also a tease. He always said "Don't do anything I wouldn't." I told him that gave me a lot of leeway if not a free pass.

Several of you will remember the incidences with the electric fence. He could hold onto the live wire and calmly proclaim it wasn't on. I went through several of these "Dare you to touch it" experiences, "It's okay, you can touch it" times but never gave in. The last time we were standing on the dirt road that went out to the fields and pasture. The barn was immediately to my right and we were facing north toward the old barn, etc. I was standing to his right and when he said "The fence is not hot" I knew with a certainty he was pulling my leg. He did it to every one. I happened to turn to my left while he was talking and noticed his tell. If you looked very closely, you could see that his neck had a steady definite pulse. It was steady but you could see it continually, now I knew where to look. I called him on it and told him I could see the proof that the fence was hot.

I wasn't a spoil sport very often.

Marie, Lesa, Kevin and Sherly,
I apologize for not making the service in person. I am dealing with a few health issues and at the present time my legs are wrapped from ankle to knee. I can't even walk stiff legged like a robot they are so cumbersome. I just hope this helps my lymphedema. I miss you all and love you all.
