Mrs. Barbara Heath-Person, 51, of 307 Summit Street, Petersburg, Va., went home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2017. She was born January 18, 1966, to the late Fannie Mae Parson and Charles Perry. Barbara was also preceded in death by her father, McKinley Heath, Sr.; grandmother, Ruth Mae Jones; aunt, Delores Williams; godmother, Alice P. Smith; and godson, Jamarion Parham.
Mrs. Heath-Person accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of First Baptist Church-West Petersburg in North Dinwiddie and also attended Metropolitan Baptist Church in Petersburg, Va. Mrs. Heath-Person was employed at Central State Hospital and Unity Family Service.
Mrs. Heath-Person was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was dedicated to the care of her home and took loving care of her family. Mrs. Heath-Person enjoyed casino games, dressing and she was a great dancer.
Mrs. Heath-Person leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted husband of twenty-six years, Jerry Person; one daughter, Nicole Heath; and two sons, Aaron Heath (Lashell) and Devon Heath (Joyce), all of Petersburg, Va.; nine grandchildren who she greatly adored, Jerron Morgan, Shaniya Evans, Ahonesty Judd, Ahonor Judd, Loyalty Heath, Vonnazisha Jubilee, Ahdreema Allen, Divinity Coleman, and London Heath; maternal mother, Maggie Washington (Clearance) of Petersburg, Va.; grandmother, Evaline Jackson of Fredericksburg, Va.; one sister, Deborah Parson of Hopewell, Va.; brothers, Lamont Parson (Tonya) of Hopewell, Va., and Jerry Heath of Petersburg, Va.; step-sisters, Sherri Bernard and husband, and Phalene Washington; aunts, Ruth Ann Jones, Joyce Wilkins and Barbara Cary (Ivory), all of Petersburg, Va., Earlene McDougal (John) of Hopewell, Annette Anderson (Gordon) of Henrico, Va., Hester Jones and Zettamae Ethington (James Sr.), both of Prince George, Va., Susie Brandon (Kenneth) of Newport News, Va., and Lorretta Jackson of Fredericksburg, Va.; uncle, Ronnie Jones, Robert Jones (Gloria) and Algie Hunt, all of Petersburg, Va., Asa Heath and Willie Jackson and wife, both of Richmond, Va.; devoted cousins, Eva Fenceroy (Wayne) and Yashima Williams, both of Hopewell, Va.,Tanya Patterson and Sharon H. Gordon, both of Petersburg, Va.; loving godfather, Percy Smith of Petersburg, Va.; five godchildren, one devoted Joe Byrd of Petersburg, Va., Kevin ""Bundy"" Green, Gregory ""Chippy"" Dean, Anthony ""Hank"" Butcher, Timothy and Jamaal Smith and Julius ""JuBaby"" Bradley, all of Petersburg, Va.; six godsisters, Cynthia Patterson, Carrie Smith, Rhonda Harris, Yvette Davis, Sonia Smith and Jewel Hinton, all of Petersburg, Va.; two godbrothers, Duane Smith and Terrance Smith, both of Petersburg, Va.; devoted friends, Cynthia ""Sister"" Byrd of Petersburg, Va., Theresa Reed, Stephanie Mason, and Ulysses Butts; extended family that she greatly loved, the Person Family, Judd Family, Gregory Family, Patterson Family, Smith Family and Walker Family; and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to name.
Mrs. Heath-Person touched the lives of many people, she loved greatly and was greatly loved. She will be truly missed!
Service for Mrs. Barbara J. Heath-Person will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2223 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Va., Bishop Jeffrey L. Reaves, Sr., Pastor, and Minister Ricky Tucker, eulogist. Interment to follow in Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
The family will assemble at 10 a.m. the day of the service and will receive friends at 307 Summit Street, Petersburg, Va.
