Charles Minshew Obituary
Colonial Heights - Charles L. Minshew, 75, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away July 15, 2021. Born and raised in Hopewell, VA, he was the son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Belcher) Minshew. He is survived by his Wife of 30 years, June Heatherington Minshew; brother, Daniel B. Minshew (Judy); stepsons, Mike Roddy (Margie), Ray Roddy (Jessica), and Tony Roddy (Michelle); grandchildren, Jessica, Savannah, Abigail, Sullivan, and Sawyer; nieces, Kimberly Minshew Davis (Robert) and Tina Minshew; and goddaughter, Elizabeth Kuhns Watkins. Charles followed in his father's footsteps as a business owner in Hopewell from 1974-1992. After selling Minshew's Engravings and Awards, he opened another business in Chester and ran it until he retired in 2016. Charles loved to pass the time fishing and visiting Disney World with his grandchildren and goddaughter. The family is being served by J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home of Hopewell VA. A visitation will be held Fri. July 23, at 6 pm. A Graveside service will follow on Sat. July 24, at Sunset Memorial Park at 10 am. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com

I met Charles when we attended VCU in the 1960's. Charles was definitely a friendly nice guy to all people.
Back then Charles and I would talk about cars. I remember when he brought the 1968 Chevrolet with the 396 4 speed. We once raced and Charles won in that car. He was really a good guy.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Charles. He was so sweet and was always pleasant and included my middle daughter on trips to Disney. RIP. Missed and loved by many.

Minshew family I give you my condolences. I worked for Charles back in the early '80's and he was the best man to work with. Always laughing and smiling, just a loyal and respectable guy that everyone loved and cared for. In Loving Christ.
