LENA RHODES Obituary
Left to cherish her memories, her husband, Willie E. Rhodes of Petersburg, Va.; daughter, Shanell S. Brown of Petersburg, Va.; eight sons, Jeffery M. Barner, William L. Rhodes, Tony L. Rhodes, Ronnie L. Rhodes, Antwan D. Rhodes (Anquanette Rhodes), Jamal D. Brown, devoted Donald E. Blackwell and Robert Marshall; twenty-seven devoted grandchildren; three unborn great-grandchildren; four sisters, Doris M. Valentine, Janice O. Calim (George J. Calim, Sr.), Terry L. Wilson and Patsy T. Lee; two brothers, Oris A. Barner, (Monica) and James E. Barner; one sister-in-law, Ella Rhodes; a brother-in-law, Larry J. Rhodes; aunts, Rochelle Blackwell of Kenbridge, Va., Drusilla Hicksfield of Petersburg, Va., and Alice Hicksfield of Rawlings, Va.; devoted friends, Harlow Clark, Julius Banks, Katrina Hudson, Regina Hite, Linda Preston, Jackie Roberson and Darrell Parham; and a host a nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services for Mrs. Lena R. Rhodes will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, Va. Interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
The family will assemble at 12 noon the day of the service and receive friends at 805 W. High Street, Petersburg, Va.

Father God thank you for the time that you gave us with Francis thank you for all the good times and the good memories that we all can share.
May you rest now no more pain for you but you have left a lot of pain here with you being gone.

I always had my sisters ...we been thru so much together ..i still dont believe you have gone home ..but i knew the pain you suffered ..i seen you each and every day lose a piece of you ..it hurt me that no matter what we did it didt work .i saw how you were tired..i cried many of nights cause i wasnt ready to let go of my sister .i had you for over 54 years ..but God saw you suffering ...he gave you wings to fly away ...say hi to mom...and dad ..my son Vincent and Kyle and Arleen ...keep watching us ...rest my sister ...we will meet again.

A family who prays together stays together! Lena "Ma Frances" you will dearly be missed. I know that my lil family and I didn't come around very often but please know that you were and always will be in our hearts. ZyAsia and Tamaya often talked about you and even Annia'. This is still so hard to take in but you needed some rest and truly deserves it! Love you Ma Frances and we'll see you again. Please keep an eye on us especially Antwan and his siblings. This has been a hard pill for all of them to try to swallow. God makes no mistakes, he needed you more than us and we can't be selfish about his decision.
