MALIK WALKER Obituary
Malik was born June 5, 2000, to Tamika (Bryan) Clanton and Michael (Veronica) Walker. Malik was a member of the Little Bethel Baptist Church, Stony Creek, Va. and was a Junior at Sussex Central High School. He enjoyed playing video games and sports with his friends. Malik was proud to have been a part of the 2016 Regional Champs and State Runner-Up Football team at Sussex Central High School. Malik maintained honor-roll throughout school and was known for his free-spirited personality. Malik will always be remembered for his big warm smile and sense of humor.
Malik was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: William T. Brown and Reuben White. He was also preceded in death by his great-uncle, Kenneth Urquhart and great-aunts, Vanessa Williams and Barbara Shell.
Left to treasure Malik's memories are his devoted parents: Tamika (Bryan) Clanton and Michael (Veronica) Walker; his loving best friend and sister, Jalea Walker; two adoring step-sisters, Khalil and Khamiera Johnson-Clanton; loyal brothers, Ronnell and Rashad Turner; adopted brother of the family, Javontae Mason; devoted grandparents, Thomas E. Brown and Beverly (Milton) Curley, whom he loved dearly; grandparents, Wanda (Walter) Wilborn, Michael (Annie) White, and Joyce Clanton; loving and dedicated great-grandparents, Elsie Brown, Lavoris Steele, Susie Harvell, and Barbara White; three uncles, Tywarren (Ruth) Sills, Antwan Walton, and Darrell White; three aunts, Shelissa (John) Coleman, Schreal (C.J.) Clanton, and Keisha Parham; dedicated god-parents: Kenneth, Pamela, and Tovia Adkins, Harvey Grandison, Pamela Phillips, and Steven J. White; a host of other relatives and friends; those dearest to him include, Dolly (James) Adkins, Virginia Jackson, Christopher Jackson, Candace, Lynette, Sandra, Anthony and Tiara Parham, Clinton and Felita Boone, Cardell Davis, Shaneka, Michael, Destiny, Brittani, and Brandon Lee, Damari Hall, and Xavier White.
A service celebrating Malik's life will be held at 11 a.m. on April 8, 2017, at Sussex Central High School, with the Rev. David L. Banks officiating and Rev. Roletta G. Banks providing the eulogy. Burial will follow at the Walker-Jones Cemetery, Dinwiddie, Va. Public viewing will be held Friday, April 7, 2017, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Little Bethel Baptist Church, 23503 Flatfoot Road, Stony Creek, Va. and one hour prior to the service at Sussex Central High School.

I would like to express my sincere condolences. I had Malik as a student in 8th grade Civics class. Malik was one of the best students I had. Malik was a straight A student, very mannerable, and his smile and personality lit up the room. I am so sorry this happened. I used to work with Malik father, Michael and I can say thru conversation he truly loved his children. He talked about them as a proud parent. Sorry for your sudden, unexpected loss but God makes no mistakes for he gives us a birth and a death date. I know it's not easy burying a child but hold onto the memories and The almighty hand of God for strength. He will definitely get you thru. God bless you all!!!
