THERESA OLIVER Obituary
After graduation, Theresa worked for a local movie theatre before getting married and starting a family.
Theresa loved her role of being a wife, mother, homemaker and Christian, as her life's purpose.
Her interests included family, traveling and dining out. After her children were grown she enjoyed volunteering at John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell, Virginia.
Theresa is survived by her husband of seventy-one years, Wilbur Oliver Sr., children Mary Ann Oliver, Carolyn Oliver, Muriel Oliver, Wilbur Oliver Jr., Wesley Oliver, Milton Oliver, Sharon Oliver and Linda Oliver, sisters Virginia Lewis (James) and Doris Newsome (Charles), grandchildren Richard Simon Jr. (Shelly), Latawnya Askins (Michael), Michael Perry and Rashaun Conover, great-grandchildren Richard Simon III, Jordan Simon, Xavier Askins, Brielle Conover and Liliana Conover and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of dear friends.
One of Theresa's most memorable sayings was "I'm glad the sun is shining today". So may we feel Theresa's warmth and love whenever the sun is shining.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Friendship Baptist Church, 1305 Arlington Road, Hopewell. Rev. Dr. Norwood Carson will officiate. Interment will follow in Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
