Arlene Marchetti Obituary

MARCHETTI, ARLENE (CASTRONOVO)
88, of Cranston, passed away on January 6, 2021, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Gino Marchetti to whom she was married for 68 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Jennie (Pagano) Castronovo.
Arlene's first job was at Scialo's Bakery during high school. Over the years she worked at Gladding's Department Store and Roger Williams Hospital. When her sons opened Marchetti's Restaurant in 1982, she could be found waiting tables and making lifelong friendships with her customers.
Arlene's most valuable work was done at home where she and Gino raised their three children. There has never been a more loving, caring and attentive mother. She often shared stories about growing up on Federal Hill and the strong family values she learned. She passed along these same values to her children. She lovingly guided them, gave them confidence, support and reminded them to always be grateful for everything they have. There will forever be a void in our hearts that only a mom could fill. Her love was enormous and she will be forever missed.
Arlene was a wonderful cook and loved to bake. She enjoyed her pastry, playing bingo with friends and taking trips to the casino. She loved animals and was always reading a new book. Above all, she found the most joy spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Arlene is survived by her loving children: David Marchetti and his wife Nikki, Donald Marchetti and his wife Denise and Susan Marchetti Patrick; her cherished grandchildren: Lauren Marchetti-Boyle and her husband Joseph, David Marchetti Jr. and his wife Alexandra, Michael Marchetti, Macie Marchetti, Matthew Marchetti, Thomas Patrick, Trevor Patrick, Gianna DelCioppio and Steven Moretti; her great grandson: Logan Boyle; her dear sister: Elizabeth Carrier and her husband Michael Carrier. Her funeral services will be private. Visit Nardolillofh.com for online condolences.
